As I am anxiously awaiting my arrival to NYC for Fashion Week, I would be sent to Fashion Hell if I didn't pay homage to a great designer who has come and gone far to soon. Of Course I am speaking of none other than Alexander McQueen. Known for his powerful emotions and raw energy of his shows, as well as his contemporary yet romantic nature of his collections are reasons why his career was blessed by the Fashion Gods.
The following are some highlights of his career:
* 1996- appointed Chief Designer for the House of Givenchy
* 2005- formed a partnership with Puma. The creative sneaker line is still available to date.
* 2006- McQ formulated. This is a denim based ready-to-wear line. The line includes womenswear, menswear, and accessories.
* 2007- partnership formed with Samsonite luggage.
*He was awarded British Designer of the year in 1996, 1997, 2001, and 2003.
*In 2003 he was awarded International Designer of the Year by CFDA (The Council of Fashion Designers of America).
